WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Food is one of the essential elements to life. However, many people have an unhealthy relationship with food that results in unhealthy lifestyles. Some people weigh too much or too little. Others use food to compensate for feelings of loss, loneliness, stress, anger and sadness, just to name a few. For some people, food is used as a control mechanism. They may not be able to control anything else, but they can control their food intake. Regardless of the type of weight issue that you may have, Dr. Amodio can help you address your specific needs and help you achieve a healthy relationship with food and with yourself.

To begin, a Whole Body Healthscan is conducted to determine if there are any physical and/or nutritional issues that interfere with your weight management. If any are identified, they are addressed through Chiropractic care, nutritional balancing, and /or acupressure and other techniques.

After this level of care has been addressed, your emotional connection with food or certain types of food is explored. Through emotional release techniques, unhealthy connections are broken, one by one, until you have regained a healthy and enjoyable relationship with food, and your body is ready, willing and able to lose or gain weight as necessary to reach its optimal health.

Some common emotions associate with:

Overweight:
- feelings of insecurity
- feelings of self-rejection
- wanting to protect the body
- seeking love and fulfillment
- attempting to fulfill the self
- feelings are being stuff inside
- unexpressed, misperceived, and inappropriate feelings.
Underweight:
- worries / fears
- distrusting life
- feeling extreme tension
